Commonly asked questions

  • Is the Gratis plan really free?

    Yes, totally free - no catches. You don’t even need a credit card to install and use Insightly, and it’s not a trial so you can use it for as long as you like. We even give you free online support too, so it’s perfect for small businesses.

  • Can I upgrade from the free plan to a paid plan?

    Yes, you can easily upgrade to a paid plan within the app itself after signing up.

  • With paid plans, when will I be billed?

    If you choose monthly billing, your credit card will be charged each month starting on the day you upgrade to a paid plan and until you cancel. If you choose annual billing your credit card will be billed once per year, or at the time you add additional users beyond your initial subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time within the app and you will not be billed again.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    For paid plans Insightly accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card, and you will be billed in US Dollars. Insightly does not accept cheques, postal orders, or pay by phone.

  • Do I have to sign a fixed term contract?

    No, you have the option of paying monthly or annually. If you pay monthly your credit card will be billed each month. If you pay annually your credit card will be charged every 12 months.

  • Are there any cancellation fees or set up fees?

    No. You can cancel your account at any time and we do not charge any set up fees.

  • Will Insightly give refunds?

    As per our terms of service, Insightly does not issue refunds. If you are on a paid plan, you can cancel at any time, but you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your subscription.

  • Can I get my data back out later?

    Yes, all accounts have a data export facility built in.

  • What is the Insightly 14 Day Trial Plan?

    The 14 Day Trial Plan is targeted to those users who want to try the features of a paid license for 14 days at no charge.

  • What is the difference between the Insightly Gratis Account and the 14 Day Trial Plan?

    The Gratis account is a free account that does not expire and allows up to 3 users, up to 2500 records and up to 200 MB storage. You can upgrade to a paid subscription from the Gratis plan at any time. The 14 Day Trial Plan is targeted towards new customers who want to test the features of the paid plan before subscribing. As the name suggests, the trial expires after 14 days. During the trial plan there are no user limits — you may invite as many people as you would like to try Insightly for the duration of the trial.

  • What happens to my data after my trial ends?

    If you choose to trial a paid plan and decide that Insightly is not for you, there is no requirement to purchase an Insightly paid subscription. If you wish to preserve your data at the end of the trial, you can export your records and then cancel your account, or upon cancellation of your trial your data will be deleted.

  • What is an Insightly for Google Apps account?

    An Insightly for Google Apps account has integration with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive) and you should install an Insightly for Google Apps account from the Google Apps Marketplace directly.

  • Is my data safe and backed up?

    Absolutely. Our servers are housed in a SSAE 16 type II audited data center with 24 hour monitored security, redundant power and cooling, active fire detection and suppression, and staffed 24x7 by senior systems and network engineers. Our storage infrastructure is highly durable and fault tolerant, and our databases are backed up daily and securely transferred and stored with military grade AES-256 encryption to multiple off-site locations, and our data management practices and privacy policies have been TRUSTe audited and certified. Insightly also offers SSL encryption with all plans.

  • What do I need on my computer to run Insightly?

    You can use any device with an internet connection and a web browser to run Insightly. Web browsers that work best with Insightly are Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer 9 or higher.

  • Does Insightly offer special pricing to non-profit organizations?

    Non-profit organizations can receive an additional free user for every paid user they purchase.
