General

  • Is the free plan really free?

    Yes, totally free – no catches. You don’t even need a credit card to install and use Insightly, and it’s not a trial so you can use it for as long as you like. We even give you free online support too, so it’s perfect for small businesses.

  • Can I upgrade from the free plan to a paid plan?

    Yes, you can easily upgrade to a paid plan within the app itself after signing up.

  • What should I do if I’m on an Insightly legacy plan or a free plan and want to try the new premium features?

    If you are on a legacy account or a free account and you upgrade to a premium plan you cannot downgrade. So we recommend that you sign up for a 14 day trial with a separate email address and a subset of your data to see if the new features will work for you. If the new features work for you then you can cancel your trial account and upgrade your original account.

  • Do I have to sign a fixed term contract?

    No, you have the option of paying monthly or annually. If you pay monthly your credit card will be billed each month. If you pay annually your credit card will be charged every 12 months.

  • Are there any cancellation fees or set up fees?

    No. You can cancel your account at any time and we do not charge any set up fees.

  • Can I get my data back out later?

    Yes, all accounts have a data export facility built in.

  • What is an Insightly for Google Apps account?

    An Insightly for Google Apps account has integration with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Drive) and you should install an Insightly for Google Apps account from the Google Apps Marketplace directly.

  • What do I need on my computer to run Insightly?

    You can use any device with an internet connection and a web browser to run Insightly. Web browsers that work best with Insightly are Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer 9 or higher.

  • Does Insightly offer special pricing to non-profit organizations?

    Non-profit organizations designated as a 501 c3 or charitable organization can receive a 50% discount for every paid license.

  • What type of training does Insightly offer?

    Insightly offers numerous online training options ranging from live webinars, on demand webinars, tutorial videos and FAQs. You can review these self service tools on our Resources page. In addition Insightly has contracted with a 3rd party instructor-led training organization to provide a more individualized training experience. This day long, instructor-led class offers practical examples and expert tips so that users can quickly master Insightly and apply their knowledge to their business goals.

Billing and Refunds

  • If I’m on the Free plan with 2 users and I want to add a 3rd user, do I have to pay for all 3 users, or just the 3rd user?

    When you upgrade from the free plan to any paid plan, all users need to have an Insightly license. So in this example all 3 users would need paid licenses.

  • With paid plans, when will I be billed?

    If you choose monthly billing, your credit card will be charged each month starting on the day you upgrade to a paid plan and until you cancel. If you choose annual billing your credit card will be billed once per year, or at the time you add additional users beyond your initial subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time within the app and you will not be billed again.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    For paid plans Insightly accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card, and you will be billed in US Dollars. Insightly does not accept cheques, postal orders, or pay by phone.

  • Will Insightly give refunds?

    As per our terms of service, Insightly does not issue refunds. If you are on a paid plan, you can cancel at any time, but you will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your subscription.

Insightly 14 Day Trial (for Premium Plans)

  • What is the Insightly 14 Day Trial Plan?

    The 14 Day Trial Plan is targeted to those users who want to try the features of a paid license for 14 days at no charge. When you sign up for the 14 day free trial you will be placed on the Professional Plan, so that you can experience the features and limits of that particular plan during the trial. However, you are not locked into purchasing the Professional Plan. At any time during the 14 day trial, or at the end of the 14 day trial, you can purchase the plan that works for your business – Basic, Plus, Professional or Enterprise.

  • What is the difference between the Insightly Free Account and the 14 Day Trial Plan?

    The free account does not expire and allows up to 2 users, up to 2500 records and up to 200 MB storage. You can upgrade to a paid subscription from the free plan at any time. The 14 Day Trial Plan is targeted towards new customers who want to test the features of a paid plan before subscribing. As the name suggests, the trial expires after 14 days. During the trial plan there are no user limits – you may invite as many people as you would like to try Insightly for the duration of the trial.

  • What happens to my data after my trial ends?

    If you choose to trial a paid plan and decide that Insightly is not for you, there is no requirement to purchase an Insightly paid subscription. If you wish to preserve your data at the end of the trial, you can export your records and then cancel your account, or upon cancellation of your trial your data will be deleted.

Data Security

  • Is my data safe and backed up?

    Absolutely. Our servers are housed in a SSAE 16 type II audited data center with 24 hour monitored security, redundant power and cooling, active fire detection and suppression, and staffed 24×7 by senior systems and network engineers. Our storage infrastructure is highly durable and fault tolerant, and our databases are backed up daily and securely transferred and stored with military grade AES-256 encryption to multiple off-site locations. Insightly also offers SSL encryption with all plans.
